What is exactly GMO?
It is something very much different from a hybrid organism. For example, in the case of an hybrid tomato, we blend one kind of tomato with another kind of tomato.
You see, with hybrid, organisms are kept within their species. But with GMO, you take two different species and blend them together. For example, strawberry is vulnerable to frost, so they took a fish, yes, a fish in the north Atlantic that has a built-in Freon in it. It has a chemical that keeps the fish from freezing.
They took the gene from that fish and attached it to the gene of the strawberry so that the strawberry would no longer be vulnerable to frost. So in a very real way they have created some kind of Frankenstein food. This is the principle of GMO. The logic may, superficially, have a positive rational.
The rational could be, in the case of the strawberry for example, that GMO is something positive. It helps the strawberries to be cold resistant, and therefore more abundance of the fruit to people, and greater food production for the farmer. But there is another side to the issue.
By blending the genes of one species with another, have one not created a totally new species? The answer to that question is murky.
From the perspective of the FDA, no a new species has not been created. The GMO strawberry for instance, is still apparently a strawberry, it looks, taste and feel like a strawberry, so it is a strawberry.
Yet, the company that creates GMO does patent their genetically modified organisms. They are considered from the point of view of patent as created new life forms. And indeed it does make sense. That GMO strawberry has a genetic make up different from the genetic make up of a natural strawberry.
In this instance, what has been done is to cross the divide between species, and the creation and corporate ownership of new species of life on earth.
The implication is far reaching from a theological as well as a humanitarian perspective. The implication of GMO is changing the structure of life as God created it. The promulgation of GMO plants combining with natural plants would eventually eradicate natural plants, and bring all living organisms under the ownership of the corporate world.
In this new world system, God would not be allowed to be the creator of life, instead life either vegetarian or animals being GMO would claimed the corporation as its creator. This is a total revolution against God and Divine order.
